Help feed a family this holiday season
Across San Francisco and Marin, thousands of people who might otherwise be forced to go hungry this holiday season are lining up to receive all the fixings to prepare a traditional Thanksgiving meal for their family. While some reports indicate that the recession is over, the San Francisco and Marin Food Banks continue to see an increase in requests and will be distributing more food to those at risk of hunger than ever before.
The San Francisco and Marin Food Bank will hand out over 1 million pounds of holiday groceries this season, providing more than 36,000 households with everything they need to prepare Thanksgiving meals in their own homes. This is an increase of more than nearly 14,000 families since the start of the recession.
Every dollar donated to the Food Bank is turned into $6 worth of food in our community. The Food Bank could not take on this colossal effort without your support.

Where Your Money Goes
The San Francisco and Marin Food Bank's supply food to 400+ non-profit anti-hunger agencies and through our network of over 200 neighborhood pantries. This year, we will distribute enough food to provide 102,000 meals each day. A full 97% of all product and monetary donations we receive go directly toward feeding hungry people.

- One in four children, one in four seniors and one in five adults are at risk of going hungry.
- The majority of people receiving supplemental food assistance in San Francisco and Marin have at least one employed household member.
- The San Francisco and Marin Food Banks provide food to over 31,500 households each week.
